The 2011 Run for The Cove was held on Sunday, October 16th, 2011 at Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison CT. The 14th Annual 5K Race, Fun Run and 2M Walk was a wonderful family event made possible by our generous sponsors, donors and participants.
Since 1997, when two
parents sponsored the first event, The Cove 5K Race, Memorial
Walk and Kids’ Fun Run has grown from a handful of
participants to nearly a thousand people. Held annually in
October at Hammonasset Beach State Park, this event features both
individuals and teams competing for prizes in age-appropriate
categories. All proceeds benefit The
Cove.

Our sincere thanks to all who have generously helped The Cove to support grieving children and teens and their families throughout the state of Connecticut. We had a wonderful turn out of adults, children, teens and four legged friends. The day started with gale force winds and cloudy skies but brightened along with the wonderful energy of the friends of The Cove. We hope that all that participated felt welcomed and enjoyed our event. With the increased turnout for the event this year, we appreciated your patience and understanding.
