Welcome New Board Member

The Cove is thrilled to welcome Darlene Bailey to our Board of Directors!

Darlene is Senior Vice President and Chief Operations Officer for Berkley Alliance Managers, a W.R. Berkley Company. With more than three decades of experience as an operations executive in the Professional Liability Insurance industry, Darlene brings extensive expertise in organizational development, strategic operations, and project management to The Cove.

Darlene’s connection to our mission is also deeply personal. Her own family’s experience with childhood grief inspired her to become involved with The Cove:

“When my sons were 12 and 17, they lost their dad, and it was an incredibly difficult chapter for our family. I often think about how meaningful Cove’s support would have been for us then. Serving as a board member and hands-on volunteer is my way of helping other families navigate their grief with a little more comfort and care.”

As she begins her work with The Cove, Darlene is looking forward to combining her professional experience with her personal understanding of grief:

“I look forward to bringing my organizational and project-management skills, along with my personal understanding of grief, to help strengthen the support we provide to families.”

And there’s a creative side to Darlene, too! She is a very proud Grandmama to four beautiful grandchildren who, she says, “keep my heart full and my life joyful.” She also has a passion for musical theater and is a season ticket holder at The Bushnell. She serves on its Advocate adjunct board committee and considers the theater her favorite creative escape.
